About Lesley
Lesley is a self taught mixed media, collage, assemblage artist that lives in Roanoke, Virginia with her wonderful husband and their furry family which includes three dogs and three cats.
She is currently scheduled to teach at Art & Soul in both Hampton, Virginia and Portland, Oregon, Mixed Media Mélange in LaGrange, Tennessee and The Fernery in Florida. Lesley taught last year at Art Is You in Connecticut and has also taught an online class for ArtChix Studio (www.artchixstudio.com).
Her artwork has been published in the Artitude Zine, Somerset Gallery 2008, Somerset Weddings 4 and she was named as The Spirit of ZNE in July, 2007 by the ZNEart Online Group. She is a co-author of “Exploring the Latest Trends in Mixed Media Arts Volume I” and is currently working as a co-author on Volume II.
Lesley gets great satisfaction in promoting other artists and devotes much of her blog ( www.flatwoodsfolkart.typepad.com ) to this endeavor. She is a lover of all things vintage which is evidenced by the colors and textures she uses in her altered books, tins and canvases.
