Supply List for Flat Peyote Practice & Bead Discussion

For this practice session, no more than 18 crow or pony beads are needed, but we need two contrasting colors-9 beads each. Half a yard of waxed linen and a blunt tapestry needle are good to use with those beads, but any thick thread and needle will do. Here are my sources for those, in case you are unable to get them locally of from one of your gourd supply vendors.

Crow Beads-Two Colors (9 light and 9 dark) Fire Mountain Gems

Waxed Linen (4-ply or 5-ply) http://www.primitiveoriginals.com/natfibcor.html  or http://www.royalwoodltd.com/cat14-17ar.htm

Blunt Tapestry Needle #18
http://www.caningshop.com  or http://www.dickblick.com/zz651/01/

Once you "get the hang of" this stitch, you may be eager to practice with better beads. Have a look at the supply list for my Beaded Collar-Tubular Peyote class, in case you want to play/practice with size 8 delica beads during our discussions. If you have a local bead shop...and have good eyesight!!...buy a package of size 11 delicas. (Size 8 delicas are what you see in my necklace sample. Size 11 are less than half as large. We're talkin' teeny-tiny.)

Optional Kit

If you'd rather have a class kit containing: 15gm Jumbo Delicas, #10 Beading Needle, Bobbin of Black Nymo Thread, Fringe Beads, #18 Tapestry Needle, Waxed Linen and Crow Beads for the practice session...you can purchase this directly from Leah for $20 (includes postage and shipping). Leah will accept PayPal or you can order from her website with a credit card. Please make these arrangements directly with Leah at least two weeks before your scheduled class.

Anything you have on hand that would look nice with the Jumbo Delica colors you choose. You might want as many as 200 seed beads and 50 ornamental, but you can get by with less. Supply List for Knotless Netting-Collar

If you'd like to have a class kit containing: 24 Yards Waxed Linen (3 colors/8 yards each), #18 Tapestry Needle, and Fringe Beads...you can purchase this directly from Leah for $10 (includes postage and shipping). If you prefer to shop on your own, here's what you need and where to find it.

Waxed Linen (4-ply) - 3-5 yards would be plenty; one color or multiple - your choice:

Blunt Tapestry (Raffia) Needle #18
