Layl McDill has been creating millefiore canes in polymer clay since 1993. She has a degree from Columbus College of Art and Design in illustration but is self taught in the millefiore technique. Her passion is creating large detailed canes (7 to 14 pounds) of all kinds of designs especially animals. She sells parts of these canes in uncured form called "Silly Millies" so others can create their own beads, buttons, magnets and other crafts. Layl also creates whimsical sculptures of women and animals with her canes. She is co-owner of Clay Squared to Infinity, a tile and polymer clay showroom and gallery in Minneapolis, MN. Her creations can be purchased at many arts festivals around the country and online at www.claysquared.com.
