"In answer to the many requests to teach my personal method of sculpting, I am offering a step by step tutorial on sculpting and painting hands and a face, in polyform clay. This tutorial will be incorporated into the first two projects and will be showcased in the third project.
However, these 3 new art projects can be created without the sculpting aspects, if you feel you aren't interested in sculpting, at this time. Instead of hands, you can place a small clam shell or flat rock inside the mushroom ,on which to place your treasure.....In place of the face on the Shrine, you can incorporate an elaborate vintage pin or any kind of embellishment that would make a good focal point. And for the third project, The Chariot will stand on it's own without placing any thing within it...

...I am offering new techniques and embellishments in this series, as well as utilizing techniques learned in my previous classes. These classes are perfect for anyone new to my style, and are also the perfect next step for anyone who has taken my previous classes.
Each project is designed to stand alone as a wonderful piece of artwork... and each project also leads into the next project, as a means to learn, practice and evolve one's personal style. As with my previous classes, you are welcome to create step by step what you see in the lesson plan, or use the lesson plan and techniques to express your own vision. Personal shrines are a way to acknowledge and affirm the sacred in our lives.
Shrines hold the power to make us forget our everyday cares and to help center us.
This power exists because shrines touch the deepest part of ourselves.
"Assembling a shrine is an act of love. It can also be a prayer. Because they are an expression of the spirit, shrines both move us and serve as bridges that connect us to mysteries greater than ourselves.".

In this special class you will create a Shrine which you can use as a focus of your intention to create art.
You will also learn, and practice, mosaic and embellishment techniques using apoxie sculpt and glass tiles.
With the use of many photos and word descriptions, Marilyn will demonstrate her step-by-step method to sculpt a face, and the techniques she uses to paint her faces.
Additionally, and for the first time, Marilyn will teach her technique for making a face soft focused and "other-worldly".
